Disney Infinity’s Toy Box mode looks awesome. It’s basically Minecraft with Disney characters, and it lets you build just about anything you can think of. Of course, you can do more than just build things. Players will be able to make their own games.
The latest trailer for Disney Infinity shows off the title’s game creation mode that can be accessed from within the Toy Box. Unlike games like LittleBigPlanet, players are not restricted to any single genre or game type. In just two minutes, it shows that players can create 2D platformers, 3D platformers, racing games, infinite runners and a Pilotwings clone. It looks like the only limitation will be the players’ imagination.
Back in June, I said that Disney Infinity had no right to look as good as it does. I take that back. The game has every right to look amazing, and it’s exciting to see Disney using its legendary IP in such an amazing way. In fact, the only downside is that the game requires players to buy physical toys to unlock more characters and set pieces for Toy Box mode.
Disney Infinity will be available on August 18 for Wii U, Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, 3DS and PC.
