Sarah Burke, famed skier and six-time X Games gold medalist, passed away Thursday due to injuries sustained during a skiing accident.
Her obituary states that she was the first female freeskier and that she successfully lobbied the Winter X Games to include females on equal footing in freeskiing events.
The outpouring of support on Twitter has been tremendous with people remembering her life and accomplishments.
Sarah Burke’s death should remind us that following your dream doesn’t guarantee that you’ll live to see it. Live every day like your last.
