Tracy McGrady: Is He Going Back To New York?

Tracy McGrady is on the lookout for a new place to land, and rumor has it that he could be going back to New York to play for the Knicks.

McGrady played with the team during the 2009-2010 season and, although he’s only 33-years old, he is already considered a veteran in the game as a seven-time All Star with fifteen years of play under his belt. Unfortunately, that could work against him, as many teams are loath to guarantee contracts to vets.

Another problem is that McGrady scored his lowest amount of points last season with the Hawks at an average of just 5.2 per game. However, he played clean games with no mistakes and could still prove he can go up against the younger guys with fervor.

McGrady also worked out for the Spurs earlier this week, but says if things don’t work out for either team he might consider looking overseas for a job. But many are predicting that McGrady will get to fill the one spot the Knicks has left on their roster in an effort to surround their golden boy, Carmelo Anthony, with one more veteran player amongst several, including Jason Kidd and Marcus Camby.
