Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Shine at Golden Globes

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler both shone at the Golden Globes on Sunday. The funny ladies were right in their element–making jokes and cracking up the audience–as well as viewers at home. The monologue–which they hinted at in the film clip featured above–was a full ten minutes worth of hilarity. The funniest part of the monologue was when they poked fun at the film Gravity–and it’s leading man, George Clooney.

“It’s a story of how George Clooney would rather float into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age,” Fey said.

And before the drum roll and cymbal chalked one up to the fabulous line, she was at it again–with Matthew McConaughey the recipient of the next zinger.

“For his role for Dallas Buyers Club, he lost 45 pounds, or what actresses call, being in a movie,” she said.

Former SNL alum Andy Samberg was in the audience at the Golden Globes, and prior to the show he talked on the red carpet about what could be expected from Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

“They’re going to be all guns blazing,” he said, after calling the ladies “two of the funniest people” he’s ever known.

He’s certainly not far off the mark there. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have the uncanny ability of playing off of one another unlike any comediennes of this generation. SNL was lucky to have them. The Golden Globes are lucky to have them–and they’ll be back next year, too.

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler rocked some amazing dresses at the Golden Globes, and they stunned fans as they walked the red carpet.

NBC is no doubt raking in some good ratings for the airing of the Golden Globes, and they have Fey and Poehler at least in part to thank for their success.
