There Are Over 100 Games Coming To The PS4 In 2014

There’s a reason Sony has been so friendly with indies these past few years. Sure, it’s good to play nice with the next generation of game creators, but there’s always been an ulterior motive. With so much indie support, Sony can now claim that it has the most games of any current-gen console. It said just as much today in a post that finally details how many games are coming to the PS4 in 2014.

Sony took to the PlayStation Blog today with a list of all the games coming to the PS4 in the coming year. Overall, there are over 100 titles coming to the system in 2014 with a large number of those games coming from indie developers.

Sony started off the list with the titles already on the PS4 of which there is actually quite a few. Since the start of the year, 17 games have been released the system across retail and the PSN. Some of the biggest titles already available for the PS4 include Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, inFamous: Second Son and Towerfall Ascension.

Going into Spring, 31 titles will be coming out for the PS4. A large number of these games will be coming from indie developers, including Octodad: Dadliest Catch and Mercenary Kings. There will be some major retail games hitting the console during this time, however, as Bound by Flame and MLB 14: The Show will both be launching in May.

As you move further into the year, the number of confirmed releases slow down with Summer only having 15 titles confirmed for June through August. There are some big titles hitting the console during this time though with The Elder Scrolls Online and The Evil Within both confirmed for Summer.

In Autumn, the number of confirmed titles drops to six with titles like Dragon Age Inquisition and Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number. As for Winter, there are only four confirmed titles, including Assassin’s Creed Unity.

Of course, there are a lot of games that don’t even have a release date yet. All we know is that they’ll be out in 2014 and Sony has compiled a list of all those games. In all, there are 47 games without a release date, but they will all be out this year. Of course, something could happen that sees some of these delayed into 2015, like the recently delayed Witcher 3. Still, the point is that there’s a lot of games coming to the PS4 in 2014.
