  • Jon Hamm Rumor Has ‘The News’ Buzzing About His Penis

Jon Hamm, star of AMC’s Mad Men is currently in the spotlight, not because he’ll be back for two more seasons of Mad Men, but because rumor has it he has a big penis. Clearly, this is top news.

Apparently the Huffington Post is the authority on the subject. Google News lists its piece “Jon Hamm’s Private Parts Allegedly Cause A Frenzy On ‘Mad Men’ Set” as the “in-depth” go to source.

    (image)

The “in-depth” Huffington Post piece points to the New York Daily News’ Confidential, which appears to be the source of the big Jon Hamm penis rumor (or is that Jon Hamm big penis rumor?), or at least the latest round of discussion about it. The article quotes:

ā€œMad Menā€ star Jon Hammā€™s private parts are causing a stir. Again.

An AMC insider tells Confidenti@l that during filming of the sixth season of the hit show ā€” when the ā€™60s-style clothing was a tight fit ā€” Hamm was politely instructed by a staffer at the network to please wear underwear while shooting his scenes.

A source tells Confidential that with the season taking place in the 60s, the pants are “tight and leave very little to the imagination,” and that “Jon’s impressive anatomy is so distracting that they politely insisted on the underwear”.

Now that anatomy is the talk of the web, and it’s making the search trends.

Buzzfeed, “where journalism is heading,” has “15 Hilarious Tweets About Jon Hamm’s Penis“.

Just 15? Surely there are hundreds, if not thousands.

Oh, and in case you’re wondering about that amazing Jon Hamm picture above, check this out. And while you’re at it, have you seen this video of him answering questions from teenage girls about sex, crushes and farting?

  • HBO Show ‘Enlightened’ Ending After Just Two Seasons

HBO has decided to pull the plug on its show Enlightened after just two seasons.

Hollywood Reporter shares a statement from HBO:

“It was a very difficult decision. Weā€™ve decided not to continue Enlightened for a third season. Weā€™re proud of the show, and we look forward to working with Mike White and Laura Dern in the future.”

White and Dern would be the show’s co-creators. Dern also starred in the show.

Enlightened’s description is as follows: “A self-destructive woman who has a spiritual awakening becomes determined to live an enlightened life, creating havoc at home and work.”

    It’s rated 7.0 on IMDB.

If you’re in the market for an Enlightened coffee mug, you might want to keep an eye on this page in case the show’s merchandise goes on sale.

The second season will be coming soon to DVD, HBO says.

  • Californication Fans Can Hang Out With Cast Members On Google+

Fans of Showtime’s Californication are in for some fun this evening, as cast members Pamela Adlon and Evan Handler (who Louie/Lucky Louie and Sex And The City Fans are also acquainted with) will be participating in a Google+ Hangout.

Fans are encouraged to ask them “anything about this season’s scandalous moments”.

The hangout takes place at 7PM Eastern at Google.com/+Showtime.

  • Don’t Get Too Excited, Arrested Development Fans

As a fan of Arrested Development, I remember how annoying it was watching the show get jerked around before it was ultimately removed from TV, despite a very loyal fan base. That was followed by years of rumors about other networks picking it up, a possible, movie, etc. Then, by some miracle, it actually became accepted as a reality that the show would be back, courtesy of Netflix.

And we still can’t thank Netflix enough for it. Hopefully it won’t disappoint.

That familiar territory of uncertainty about the show’s future is already back, however, before Netflix has even made the new season available. News is out today that Netflix will not be producing additional seasons. Season 4 may be all we get.

The Wall Street Journal reports there will be “no subsequent seasons” of the show, after Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said at investor conference that the show would be “a one-off” and would be a “non-repeatable” event. The Journal quotes a spokesperson as saying it would be “extremely difficult to get the cast together”.

Pretty disheartening news for fans, though if season 4 turns out to be a let down, the news may be easier to swallow.

The cast was already hard to get together from my understanding, and they managed to make it work eventually. If there’s enough demand (which there almost certainly will be) would the show find its way back to its audience, even without Netflix? That remains to be seen, but we probably shouldn’t hold our breath.

In fact, we should really just be happy that the Bluths have found their way back into our lives at all, as it was beginning to feel like it was never going to happen. Now, it’s happening.

Season 4 will hit Netflix in May.

  • PBS Releases A Tear-Jerking Tribute To Matthew And Mary Crawley

  • Now You Can Watch The Walking Dead Midseason Premiere For Free On YouTube Too

AMC announced last week that the midseason premiere of The Walking Dead was free to watch online at AMC’s website for a limited time. Then, the network announced the availability of the episode on Android, iPhone, iPad and Kindle Fire.

Today, AMC uploaded the entire episode to YouTube, which you are now free to watch. Presumably, the video will remain watchable for the same duration as AMC’s own video (which is until March 10th).

The episode set a series record for viewers the night it originally aired.

AMC is only offering this particular episode for free, but the one that follows this one is now available to stream online elsewhere for a price.

  • Downton Abbey: Carson Wants To Marry Mrs. Hughes

Downton Abbey fans in the U.S. got to see the season finale of the show on Sunday night. Today, PBS Masterpiece is sharing a video of the cast talking about the episode.

While it may or may not happen, it’s worth noting that Jim Carter, who plays Carson on the show, says he believes that Carson should marry Mrs. Hughes. I’m sure a number of fans would enjoy that sentiment.

“I love the scenes when Carson and Mrs. Hughes get together,” he says. “You don’t often see behind the mask with Mr. Carson, and just occasionally the mask slips, and you just get a little glimpse of the interior life, and you get that with when he’s with Mrs. Hughes. Everybody wants Carson and Mrs. Hughes (quietly) to get together. Even if they were married, he’d still call her Mrs. Hughes wouldn’t he?”

“Carson has to marry Mrs. Hughes,” he adds. “Write to [show creator] Julian Fellowes. It’s got to happen.”

Now check out comedian Patton Oswalt’s twitter recap of the latest episode.

  • Downton Abbey Makes Patton Oswalt Want To Set An Arby’s On Fire

There are a lot of people talking about Downton Abbey on Twitter today, now that PBS has run the season finale here in the U.S. While many had already seen the episode, a lot of American fans only got the opportunity to do so on Sunday. While I won’t spoil it here, suffice it to say, something big happened.

Comedian Patton Oswalt tweeted his way through the episode on Sunday night. Below is the majority of his recap, which ends with him drinking, crying, wanting to set an Arby’s on Fire and watching the movie Battleship. Beware of spoilers and language if you’re easily offended.

From there, Oswalt proceeded to tweet his way through Battleship. Do yourself a favor and view his timeline.

  • Watch The Walking Dead Midseason Premiere For Free On Android, iPhone, iPad And Kindle Fire

AMC announced this week that it will be streaming the midseason premiere of The Walking Dead online for free until March 10. Today, the network also announced that the episode is now available for a limited time (presumably the same period of time) on the AMC Mobile app for Android, iPhone, iPad and Kindle Fire.

The app also provides behind-the-scenes video content, and previews.

The episode has received mixed reviews from fans of the show, but it also set a series record for viewers when it premiered on Sunday.

Here are a couple of behind-the-scenes videos AMC has posted to accompany the episode. They’ve also posted a preview for the upcoming episode.

AMC will be showing episodes of The Walking Dead from seasons 1 and 2 in black and white regularly on Thursdays, beginning on February 14th.

  • AMC To Air Old Walking Dead Episodes In Black And White

AMC will begin airing episodes from the first two seasons of its hit zombie show The Walking Dead in black and white on Thursdays. The network suggests that viewing the episodes this way will mirror the format of Robert Kirkman’s comic book series upon which the show his based.

Viewing the show this way could also give it more of a classic 50s/60s zombie movie feel, which interestingly, is something The Walking Dead’s show developer Frank Darabont (who is no longer attached to The Walking Dead) did with his film The Mist, based on Stephen King’s short story. While not about zombies, the black and white viewing experience gave it a very cool, vintage monster movie feel.

AMC will begin showing the episodes in this style on Valentine’s Day at 8:00 PM Eastern, and will continue each Thursday, leading into the network’s “AMC Real Original Thursdays“.

The midseason premiere, which aired on Sunday, set a series record for viewers, showing just how popular the show has become. It will be interesting to see what kind of ratings the black and white episodes will get.

  • ‘Walking Dead’ Sets Record With Midseason Premiere

The Walking Dead returned to television on Sunday night, and it just happened to beat its own record for ratings at the same time. The show, as you may know, returned from a midseason hiatus, hooking in users anxious for its return.

The AP reports (via ABC), citing Nielsen numbers, that the midseason premiere set a series record on Sunday night with 12.3 million viewers, beating its previous record, which was set when AMC ran the season premiere in October (10.9 million). According to the report, 7.7 million of this past Sunday’s viewers were between the ages of 18 and 49 – a record on its own, for a cable show for that demographic.

Earlier this week, AMC posted a couple of behind-the-scenes videos looking at the record-setting episode. The network also posted a preview of the next episode.

For those who have yet to see the midseason premiere, AMC is offering it online for free until Sunday, March 10th. The network will not be offering other episodes of the series as free online streams, but they want to get fans started off, so if you’re interested, you have a few weeks.

If you’ve already seen the episode, AMC also put out a couple of behind-the-scenes looks at it, as well as a look at next week’s episode.

If you like to watch the show online, don’t get too excited. They’re only doing this with the first episode. For the rest you’ll have to seek out alternative viewing methods. Amazon charges $1.99 per episode, for example.

“This is a one-time-only event and will not be happening with future episodes for the rest of this season,” AMC says in a blog post. “Watch it for the first time. Watch it again. Just do so quickly as it will only be available until Sun, Mar. 10.”

The next episode airs this Sunday at 9:00 PM Eastern on AMC.
