  • Rowan Blanchard of “Girl Meets World” Comes Out as Queer

Rowan Blanchard, one of the stars of Girl Meets World, came out as queer this weekend via social media.

“In my life–only ever liked boys,” she wrote. “However I personally don’t wanna label myself as straight, gay or whateva so I am not gonna give myself labels to stick with–just existing.”

According to TV Guide, Rowan Blanchard clarified her initial statement in a response to a fan, saying she’s open to dating any gender.

In addition, Rowan Blanchard added that she’d like to see Riley, her Girl Meets World character, explore bisexuality. She’d like to see a bigger LGBTQ representation on TV.

Even though she’s just 14, Rowan Blanchard is already recognized as a social justice advocate. She has spoken out on numerous social justice issues and encourages others to do the same.

  • “Girl Meets World” Star Says She Doesn’t Want To Label Her Sexuality

Girl Meets World, a spinoff of the hit ’90s sitcom Boy Meets World, is all about the idea of being an open, progressive parent, so it’s likely Rowan Blanchard’s onscreen mom and dad would be proud of her decision to denounce labeling her sexuality.

The 14-year old Disney Channel star took to Twitter recently to talk about some very personal issues, saying that she’s only liked boys for most of her life but now, she doesn’t want to stick labels on herself in favor of just “existing”.

“In my life — only ever liked boys. However I personally don’t wanna label myself as straight, gay or whateva so I am not gonna give myself labels to stick with — just existing ;)” Rowan wrote. “Yes, open to liking any gender in future is why I identify as queer.”

Blanchard has made headlines in the past on her educated and well-thought out responses to fan questions on social media, particularly her views on “white feminism”, a viewpoint that might exclude women of color.

“This is such an important thing to be discussing. I have made a very big point at making sure my personal feminism includes everyone — and educating myself and discussing these topics have really helped…’White feminism’ forgets all about intersectional feminism. The way a black woman experiences sexism and inequality is different from the way a white woman experiences sexism and inequality. Likewise with trans women and Hispanic women,” the Girl Meets World star wrote.

Blanchard wrote an essay for Rookie recently which is getting quite a bit of attention, as well. The actress has been praised across several social media platforms for her writing and for being a role model for young girls.

Blanchard also recently took on Taylor Swift, who is widely praised in the media for the way she treats other women, saying that she doesn’t think having a “girl squad” teaches females positive lessons about how to interact with one another.

“Of course female friendship is a beautiful thing. It’s insanely powerful. Sisterhood is something so valid and important when you are growing up that I literally think the essence of it should be taught in schools. But the ‘squads’ we see in the media are very polarizing. Feminism and friendship are supposed to be inclusive, and most of these ‘squads’ are strictly exclusive.”

  • ‘Boy Meets World’ Spinoff: ‘Girl Meets World’ Gets Renewed

The Boy Meets World spinoff–Girl Meets World–has been renewed for a second season. The Disney Channel has picked up Cory and Topanga for a second go. The series based on the one that gained huge popularity in the 1990s follows the daughter of the initial series’ main characters.

Cory (played by Ben Savage) and Topanga (played by Danielle Fishel) were teenagers in Boy Meets World. Now they’re parents of the main character in the new show–Riley. She is played by Rowan Blanchard.

The spin-off was developed by Boy Meets World creators April Kelly and Michael Jacobs. It has fast become the number one show among kids aged two through fourteen since it premiered on the Disney Channel on June 27th. Kids aren’t the only ones watching the spinoff, however.

“The series swiftly became a favorite of kids and their parents, many of whom grew up with Boy Meets World,” Adam Bonnett, the executive vice president of original programming at Disney Channels Worldwide, said.

Girl Meets World doesn’t just feature Cory and Topanga. It features an upcoming cameo of Lee Norris’s Boy Meets World character, Stuart Minkus.

Were you a Boy Meets World fan? Did you keep constantly apprised of Cory and Topanga during the 1990s? Is Girl Meets World part of your new viewing repertoire?

Girl Meets World airs on the Disney Channel on Friday evenings at 8:30 PM. Now that the series has been granted a second season, you have plenty of time to become a new–or reprise your role as an old–fan.

  • Girl Meets World Renewed For Second Season

Girl Meets World Renewed For Second Season

Disney Channel has officially renewed Girl Meets World, the 90s spinoff of Boy Meets World, for a second season.

The new series picked up with the two main characters, Corey Mathews (Ben Savage) and Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fishel), who are parents to the mischievous 13-year-old Riley. The show brings back the memories of innocent childhood, and has appealed to a wide variety of audiences.

The show reached 5.2 million viewers during its June 27 premiere, and has continued with high ratings. The show has become so popular that it has been ranked one of the top series among children and tweens.

“The series swiftly became a favorite of kids and their parents, many of whom grew up with ‘Boy Meets World,’” Adam Bonnett, the executive vice president of original programming at Disney Channels Worldwide, said. “We’re looking forward to watching Riley Matthews and Maya Hart make the world their own, as Cory and Topanga teach them life lessons along the way.”

Girl Meets World is still airing its 20-episode freshman season, and will begin production on the anticipated second season in November. Girl Meets World airs on Fridays at 8:30 p.m. on Disney Channel.

  • ‘Girls Meets World’ Debut Draws Big Numbers

‘Girls Meets World’ Debut Draws Big Numbers

Almost everyone today between the ages of 20 and 30 can attribute their moral compass to one source – Boy Meets World. The TGIF ABC sitcom that ran between the years 1993-2000 followed the life of young Cory Matthews (played by Ben Savage), an average boy trying to find his own way through the world, along with best friends Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fischel) and Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong). In the seven years during the shows run, the world was able to see Cory grow up before its eyes and learn the same life lessons Cory found so valuable toward his growth and development. In some ways, one could say that Cory Matthews is the Jiminy Cricket of Generation Y. Fortunately for those who fall just outside that generation, there is a new, yet familiar, moral compass currently airing on the Disney Channel.

This past Friday, Girl Meets World made its world debut. And while the show definitely isn’t the same as the original, show creator Michael Jacobs has created a world familiar enough to draw in millions of viewers – 5.2 million, to be exact.

Girl Meets World follows the same premise as Boy Meets World , except with a few twists. Riley Matthews (Rowen Blanchard), Cory and Topanga’s oldest child, attempts to navigate the huge world of New York City on her own, escaping her parents’ shadows and learning her own life lessons. She gets help along the way from her own version of Shawn Hunter – Maya Hart (Sabrina Carpenter), and even already has a love interest in Peyton Meyer (Lucas Friar).

“We’re dealing with a lot of the same issues that we dealt with on the original series: themes of freedom from your parents and individuality and family support and relying on your friends,” stated Ben Savage.

That being said, there are some significant differences in the new iteration: “But it’s in a lot more complicated framework because the world’s a lot more complicated. Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Internet — these are issues we didn’t have to deal with in the ’90s, which is shocking, but it was a totally different world.”

Creator and writer Michael Jacobs recognizes and respects the differences between the two time periods in which the respective shows take place; hence, his decision to bring on four younger female writers.

While the debut was successful in terms of numbers, the reviews were mixed. Many people are still basking in the aura of nostalgia, refusing to believe anything touched by Michael Jacobs and the original Boy Meets World cast could go wrong (such as this guy). Others, however, feel as if Jacobs and company have sold out to the new version of Disney Channel shows, replacing the humbleness of the original series with the glitz and glam appeal typically broadcast in current Disney Channel shows.

And while there were some forced moments of nostalgia, cuteness, and moral prescription in the pilot, most fans would agree that the show has an upside that ensures millions more viewers for week to come.

  • Girl Meets World Premiere Date Set: June 27th On TV (Earlier Online)

The date of the squeal to the 90s TV show Boy Meets World has been set.

Girl Meets World will air on the Disney Channel starting June 27th, but according to the L.A. Times, verified viewers of the WATCH Disney Channel streaming site will be able to see the premiere as early as May 21st. For the new generation who need some background, or for the old generation who need a refresher, the Disney Channel will show a marathon of Boy Meets World on June 15th.

A sequel to Boy Meets World has been in the works since 2012. Many of the original cast are returning for the sequel, including Ben Savage as Cory Matthews, Danielle Fishel as Topanga Lawrence-Matthews, Lee Norris as Stuart Minkus, and William Daniels as Mr. Feeny. The series adds Rowan Blanchard and August Maturo, as the children of Cory and Topanga of the original series.

In a press release, the Disney Channel described that the new series will show “wonderfully funny, heartfelt stories that Boy Meets World is renowned for – only this time from a tween girl’s perspective. It focuses on relationships with family and friends and the important, indelible values therein, as the relatable and adventurous Riley and her bold best friend Maya traverse the twists and turns of teenage years at Manhattan’s John Quincy Adams Middle School where Riley’s dad is their History teacher.” It also happened to explain the plot of the series premiere, which contained a homework rebellion.

The press release went on to describe the various cameos lined up for the series’s first season: “Cloris Leachman (“The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and “Kiss Me Deadly”), Jane Lynch (“Glee”), Jackée Harry (“Sister, Sister” and “227”), Willie Garson (“White Collar” and “Sex and the City”), Charlotte Rae (“The Facts of Life”) and musician Herbie Hancock.”

If you’re going to wait for the show to air on television, you may be the last to see it. The premiere will not only be released on the steaming site first, but it will also get an iTunes release on June 13th, a good two weeks before it shows on TV.

    Good luck avoiding spoilers!

  • “Girl Meets World” Unveils Teaser Trailer [Video]

The moment that fans of Boy Meets World have been waiting for is finally here. The first teaser trailer featuring video footage of the spin-off Girl Meets World has been revealed, and features Cory and Topanga all grown up, and having to deal with their own kids.

The trailer for Girl Meets World shows Riley Matthews attempting to sneak out of her bedroom window along with her best friend Maya, only to be stopped by a grown-up Cory.

Girl Meets World will of course be returning Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel as Cory and Topanga, who have been married and have had two kids since the series finale of the original show. In addition, Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter will be playing the roles of Riley Matthews and Maya, respectively.

While only a 30-second clip, the teaser at least shows fans a bit of footage of what the characters will be like when the show finally premieres. Boy Meets World ended in 2000, and with a dedicated set of fans, the spin-off has been long overdue, and will debut on the Disney channel.

Due to the immense popularity of the show’s predecessor, the show was given a full-season order before even airing its pilot.

Everyone’s favorite former teacher of Cory and Topanga’s, Mr. Feeny will be returning to the show, in addition to a couple of other familiar faces. William Russ and Betsy Randle who played Cory’s parents in Boy Meets World, in addition to Rider Strong who played Shawn Hunter.

Much like Boy Meets World, which followed Cory’s adventures through life, Girl Meets World will follow Riley’s journey through junior high and beyond, all while trying to figure out her place in life.

Riley is set to have a similar role to Cory when he was younger, and Maya has been described as the wild best friend, sounding a bit like Shawn Hunter. Although it ended 14 years ago, the show still carries a great popularity for children of the 90’s, much like Friends, which has also teased about reunions over the years.

While the show will be on the Disney channel, and clearly aimed at the pre-teen to teen audiences, it is likely to attract many people that are now in their 20’s and 30’s that are still in love with he characters of Cory and Topanga as well.

Girl Meets World still has not been given a premiere date yet, but that should hopefully be available for fans soon. It will debut on the Disney channel sometime this summer, and it is likely to generate a widespread audience.

  • ‘Girl Meets World’ Welcomes Two More Familiar Faces

Mr. Feeny’s return to television may be the most talked about Girl Meets World cameo, but it may not be for long. The Girl Meets World cast welcomed a couple of Boy Meets World alumni to their set recently to film a very special episode.

In 2012 Disney set plans in motion for a Boy Meets World spin-off called Girl Meets World. Filming for the series didn’t start until March 2013, but since then, the cast and crew have worked nearly non-stop to complete the first season.

Girl Meets World follows Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) and Topanga Lawrence-Matthews (Danielle Fishel) as they raise their children Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and Auggie (August Maturo). The series is sure to be filled with touching moments, life lessons, crazy dancing, and wacky mischief.

Disney and Girl Meets World’s production team have tried to keep as many details about the upcoming series top secret. However, fans of Boy Meets World know to expect a few familiar faces. Rider Strong will make a couple appearances, and so will Mr. Feeny himself, William Daniels. Recently, it was also announced that Lee Norris will return as Stuart Minkus. Now Boy Meets World fans can get gleeful once more, because the Matthews, Cory’s parents, are making their return as well.

The official Disney PR page released some pictures of an upcoming episode. On the holiday special one, Strong once again will appear as Shawn Hunter, and Betsy Randle and William Russ will reprise their roles as Amy and Alan Matthews. In the picture, the Matthews are joined by Shawn around the dinner table.

Recently, even before the series set a premiere date, Disney ordered a full 21 episode season. Girl Meets World should premiere sometime later this year; possibly around October or November, which is just in time for the fall TV season.

  • “Girl Meets World” Picked up for 8 More Episodes-Still No Set Premiere Date

Girl Meets World is one of the most highly anticipated shows of the 2014 Television season. Fans of Boy Meets World cannot wait to learn more about the life of Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) post-series finale. Unfortunately, the official premiere date is still a mystery to everyone. However, Disney ordered 8 more episodes, which gives fans something to celebrate. This brings the series total to 21 episodes, an unprecedented amount for a series yet to air. Disney seems confident about the show capitalizing on the success of Boy Meets World. Their optimism may pay off in a big way.

News of the additional 8 episodes came through a tweet from Fischel. She seemed just as excited about this expansion as Boy Meets World fans.

The development of Girl Meets World has been kept pretty private, because producers have a few surprises they don’t want leaked to fans of the original series. Therefore, not many facts have been disclosed to the public. What fans do know is that Cory will follow in Mr. Feeny’s (William Daniels) footsteps as a history teacher at his daughter’s school. Topanga, apparently, owns a pudding hangout that many of the show’s central character will visit. The show also promises guest appearances from a bunch of familiar Boy Meets World faces, including Rider Strong as Shawn Hunter, Daniels reviving his role as Feeny and possibly Will Friedle as Cory’s older brother Eric.

Girl Meets World follows Cory and Topanga’s daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard) as she tries to navigate middle school with her friend Maya (Sabrina Carpenter). Boy Meets World started with Cory and Topanga in middle school, and then eventually followed them to college and marriage. Disney may hope for the same outcome with the spin-off series.

The only known fact about the release date is that it’s happening sometime this year. It’s probable that the series could air before the fall 2014 television season.

  • “Girl Meets World” Picked Up For Full Season

A lot of folks who loved the 90s sitcom “Boy Meets World,” were probably skipping down the street this week, because according to one of the show’s former stars, Danielle Fishel, “Girl Meets World” has just been picked up for an entire season.

“Got the great news tonight that #GirlMeetsWorld was picked up for 8 more episodes, a total of 21,” she wrote. “Can’t wait for everyone to see them all.”

“Girl Meets World” will air on the Disney Channel and will follow the character of Riley Matthews, who’s the daughter of the “Boy Meets World” couple Cory and Topanga. Apparently, the couple stayed in New York–since that’s where they moved to in the final episode of the 90s show–and they’ll be guiding their daughter through the usual kinds of social challenges that many preteens face.

Since word got out in 2012 that “Girl Meets World” was being made, the buzz was loud and strong, which is probably why Disney decided to order a full season before the pilot episode even aired.

Ben Savage–who plays Cory on the show–also sent out a tweet and said he’s looking forward to playing Cory Matthews once again. “We’ve been picked up for 8 more episodes,” he wrote. “It’s a joy revisiting these characters and meeting the world as a dad.” He then sent out an Instagram photo of a sign that looks like it’s directing people to where the show is being taped.

If you think about it, “Girl Meets World” has a very high chance of being successful and running for many seasons. For one, a lot of parents who were fond of the show in the 90s will be eager to introduce the characters to their children, and two, it’s likely that many kids will just stumble on it, since they’re probably watching the Disney Channel anyway.

It’ll be interesting to see just how the writers update the show to fit modern times, and if the Riley character will face the same kind of jams as Cory did in his younger days.

  • Danielle Fishel Weds Boyfriend, Tim Belusko

The world knows her as Topanga Lawrence, but she didn’t marry Cory Matthews! However, the widely known “Boy Meets World” actress Danielle Fishel did officially say “I Do” to her fiance’ Tim Belusko on Saturday, Oct. 19. The candle-lit ceremony took place on the staircase of the upscale wedding venue, Vibiana, in Los Angeles.

The 130 year-old luxurious venue hosted more than 200 guests that attended the wedding. Fishel’s “Girl Meets World” co-star, Ben Savage, was among the large number of guest. However, their “Boy Meets World” co-star, Rider Strong, wasn’t in attendance, because ironically he also got married on Saturday.
    (image)

Fishel took to Twitter to share her excitement of marital bliss with the world. She also posted a picture on Instagram the day after her wedding. The caption reads, “First morning as husband and wife. Outside Vibiana where we said “I Do.” #love”

    https://twitter.com/daniellefishel/statuses/392094136113057792

While the actress was indeed glowing with joy and happiness, it didn’t take long for the judgmental critics to get under her skin. In wake of her marital headlines, critics felt the need to criticize the 7-year age difference between Fishel and Belusko. Just hours after posting the picture on Instagram, Fishel fired back via Twitter expressing her disdain toward those who felt compelled to question her marital decision. She definitely wasn’t happy and had no qualms about speaking her mind and defending her new husband.
    https://twitter.com/daniellefishel/statuses/392095656317181952

To some fans it may look as though Fishel is “cheating” on the one man they always envisioned she’d marry. But, all isn’t lost just yet, since the two have reunited once again to continue their television love affair. Fishel will soon be back on television starring in the “Boy Meets World” spin-off, “Girl Meets World.” Of course, Fishel will play the role of none other than Topanga Lawrence-Matthews – wife of the one and only Cory Matthews. Fishel also posted promo picture for the upcoming show.

The caption reads, “Love this man. @BenSavage, thank you for making me so happy and being my amazing “husband” all these years.”

Fishel and Savage have also tweeted about the upcoming show.
    https://twitter.com/daniellefishel/statuses/391050761620029440

The show will pick up years later, delving into the lives of the Matthews’ couple, who are now the parents of a teenage daughter, Riley Matthews, portrayed by “Spy Kids” actress, Rowan Blanchard. The show is scheduled to debut on the Disney channel some time next year.

  • Danielle Fishel from “Boy Meets World” Ties the Knot

Our little Topanga is all grown up! That’s right, Danielle Fishel from one of the Disney Channel’s most popular shows, “Boy Meets World”, has tied the knot!

Fishel, who played Topanga on the long-running teen series, married her real life sweetheart, Tim Belusko, on October 19. The actress wanted to keep the ceremony “short and sweet”. “The most important thing is that the day feels authentic to us,” the bride recently told PEOPLE. “We’re traditional, but also a bit wacky!” Fishel was very excited to announce her wedding as the best day of her life via Twitter.

Ironically, Rider Strong, who played Shawn Hunter in the series, also got married on Saturday, and was not able to attend Fishel’s wedding. He admitted that the scheduling issue was “his fault” because Fishel “chose the date first”.
However, her on-screen love, Ben Savage, who played Corey Mathews, was able to there to congratulate the beautiful bride.

Strong also took to Twitter to tell his fans and family that he was “off to get hitched”.

Fishel told her new hubby that Savage will always be her “first husband”. “He knows that Ben and I have been together for a long time as an on-screen couple,” she explained, “and to a certain extent when you’ve been with someone for 20 years like that, it’s impossible to have none of that rub off a little bit in person.”

Good news for you “Boy Meets World” fans… Fishel and Savage will be returning for a spin-off of the series called “Girl Meets World”. The new show will debut sometime next year and will be about the pairs daughter.

  • Danielle Fishel from “Boy Meets World” Gets Married

Boy Meets World fans who were hoping that somehow Cory and Topanga would end up together in real life are in for a bit of a disappointment. Former Boy Meets World star Danielle Fishel tied the knot over the weekend, but not to Ben Savage. Not to worry, though–Cory and Topanga will be onscreen again soon enough in Disney’s spinoff, Girl Meets World.

The 32-year-old who last played Topanga Lawrence more than a decade ago (yes, it has really been that long) married her love of five years, Tim Belusko, in Los Angeles on Saturday. Two hundred guests were in attendance at the wedding at former cathedral Vibiana in L.A. According to E!, Lawrence’s former onscreen love interest, Savage, was there for the nuptials.

Fishel met her new husband, who is a few years younger than her, when she went back to college at age 27. “I did so well in math, I even became a tutor. And that is how I met my fiancé,” she posted to her Tumblr page when she announced her engagement back in December.

Rider Strong, who played Shawn Hunter on Boy Meets World, wasn’t at Danielle Fishel’s wedding yesterday, but he had a pretty good reason. He got married yesterday, too. “Bad news…so I’m missing some of my Boy Meets World family (that was my fault, [Danielle] chose the date first),” Strong joked in a statement to ABC.

Danielle Fishel, Ben Savage and William Daniels (Mr. Feeny) are a few of the Boy Meets World alum who have signed on for the spinoff Girl Meets World. The new show hits Disney in 2014.

Are you looking forward to Girl Meets World? Respond below. And for now, enjoy Eric Matthews’ (Will Friedle) Feeny call. Even though Friedle hasn’t been confirmed to join the cast of Girl Meets World, the Feeny call never gets old. Never.

  • Boy Meets World Star Engaged, Rider Strong To Marry Girlfriend

Boy Meets World Star, Rider Strong, is engaged to girlfriend Alexandra Barreto. Us Weekly reports that Strong, who is best known for his role as Shawn Hunter in Boy Meets World, proposed to Barreto on December 23.

It’s reported that proposal went down while Baretto’s parents were visiting for the holidays. He designed and created the engagement ring himself. He told Us that he received lessons in wax casting from an “old-school jeweler” in Echo Park, and then set up a workspace himself to craft the ring out of white gold. His father, who also created an engagement ring for his own marriage, made the wooden box that housed the ring.

As for the special moment itself, Strong described the scene to Us:

“I took her for a walk under the redwoods on the property where I grew up in Northern California. It was pouring rain, but it didn’t look like it was going to stop anytime soon, so I just decided to go for it.”

For now, Strong will be focused on his upcoming marriage to Barreto, but will he have any involvement with Girl Meets World? He told Us that he has no “official involvement” in the spin off series starring the daughter of Cory and Topanga, but he says that he “can’t wait to see it evolve.”

  • “Girl Meets World”: Topanga Promises It Won’t Suck

Yes, BMW fans, “Girl Meets World” is really happening, and Cory and Topanga have signed on to play adult versions of themselves.

Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel have confirmed on Twitter that they will be returning to the roles that endeared them to TGIF fans everywhere, only this time they’re the parents of a pre-teen girl. Cory, following in dear old Mr. Feeny’s footsteps, is a teacher now. Topanga is still hot. Sounds good to me.

Fishel penned an open letter to fans regarding the news, assuring them that the people in charge of the show don’t want to mess up our treasured memories of “Boy Meets World”:

First of all, let me say that you, the fans of Boy Meets World, have been awesome. That word is often used incorrectly by people, including myself, on a daily basis but you have truly been awe inspiring. You, yes, even YOU, are the reason that Girl Meets World WILL BE MADE.

I do not know how many BMW cast members will be returning for GMW, or how often they may appear if and/or when they do appear. I am going to do my best to not speak for others with this open post. But because I have known Michael Jacobs, Ben Savage, Rider Strong, Will Friedle, and Bill Daniels for 19 years, I know we share many of the same feelings regarding the 7 wonderful years we spent making BMW. Those years were among the most warm, hilarious, insightful, educational years of my life and I wouldn’t trade them for the world. Another thing I wouldn’t trade for anything is the integrity and the heart with which BMW was made. I promise with the entirety of my heart that we will make GMW with the same honesty, innocence, and intelligence that you learned to expect from BMW.

I say this because making the decision to do the show involved more conversations than you can possible imagine. These conversations were with the same people I mentioned above because they were all instrumental in creating and maintaining the heart of BMW. The first comment out of every person’s mouth was, “Let’s only do it if we think we can create something as special as we did with BMW.” When the news leaked that GMW was in the making, literally days after I first heard about the project myself, Michael Jacobs and I had a conversation and we talked about how we were both so blown away by the reactions from all of you. We felt honored. We felt nostalgic. We felt touched by the excitement in your comments, tweets, Tumblr, and Facebook posts. But most of all, we felt inspired. We felt inspired to bring these characters back to life and to tell you more of their stories. Michael said to me, “Danielle, when I read what people say BMW meant to them it makes me so very proud of all of us. I think it is important for us, for as long as we are fortunate enough to have this opportunity to do GMW, that we all look each other in the eyes every so often and make sure we know we have something of value to offer the audience.” I think we have that with GMW.

I say that so that I can say this: GMW is a new show. It isn’t BMW brought back to life but in current day. It will have familiar faces, familiar themes, and familiar messages. It will also have new faces, new themes, and new messages. BMW never spoke down to the audience and we are going to do our best to never do that with GMW. But please keep in mind that this there will be episode 1, of season 1, of a brand new show. We started at the same place with BMW but we evolved and we evolved quickly. For those of you who knew and loved BMW, please allow this show to evolve as well. Stick with us. Give us a chance.

In the meantime, a sincere thank you to every one of you for all of your tweets (I read them all, every day. It killed me not to be able to talk about it!), even those of you who asked us not to do it. There were only a few of you but I know why you don’t want GMW to happen and I appreciate that BMW meant enough to you that you don’t want to see its legacy tarnished. I can assure you, we don’t want that either. Your love, dedication, and appreciation means more to us than you could ever know and it will be the driving force behind our passion to make the best show we can possibly make. Thank you for giving us the chance to do it again.

    Love,

    Danielle
