LEGO may be a building toy, but people can also build awesome robots with it. Google is doing just that this year at SXSW with the Google LEGO MINDSTORMS Hackathon.
The event sees teams building a robot out of LEGO running on Google’s Android operating system. Teams have from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. to build their robot and make it race ready before the main event starting at 8 p.m. It’s pretty awesome as its like the Iron Chef of LEGO robots with the teams only being allowed to use the pieces they are given at the event. After they build their LEGO robot, teams will have to use an Android device and the MINDdroid app to compete.
