Solange Knowles: Beyonce’s Sister Ties the Knot

Solange Knowles, Beyonce’s sister, married Alan Ferguson on Sunday in New Orleans. The two tied the knot at the Marigny Opera House after arriving on white-painted vintage bicycles. Solange’s bike basket was filled with flowers.

People magazine confirms that the marriage took place in front of approximately 200 family members and friends.

“Beaming. Calm. They looked pretty calm, relaxed on their wedding day,” one onlooker told People. “Definitely happy.”

That’s a far cry from how Solange Knowles appeared when she beat on Jay Z in that elevator several months ago. Perhaps marriage brings out her calmer side?

The bride wore a cream pantsuit with a cape and plunging V-neck by Stéphane Rolland. She accented the cream color with a bright red lipstick. The groom wore a white suit sans tie.

Solange Knowles’ big sister Beyonce arrived about 15 minutes after Solange Knowles and Alan Ferguson. She and her husband Jay Z and daughter Blue Ivy all spilled out of a black SUV. Solange’s Mom Tina Knowles, son Daniel Julez, and singer Janelle Monae were in attendance, too.

Earlier in 2014 Solange Knowles talked about her love life with Harper’s Bazaar.

“Luckily, I dated all of the losers ages ago,” she told the publication. “My love life has been stable for a while. It’s a f–––ed up thing … without conflict it’s a lot harder to write interesting songs.”

Alan Ferguson has directed videos for Katy Perry and John Legend. He won a BET Award for Best Video Director for co-directing Beyoncé’s “Party” and “Dance for You” music videos. Talk about keeping it all in the family.

Congratulations to both Solange Knowles and Alan Ferguson on tying the knot. May they enjoy many happy years together–and avoid elevators, especially with Jay Z.
