Sienna Miller is the latest actress to discuss the gender pay gap that exists both in Hollywood and elsewhere.
During an appearance on Good Morning America, Miller talked about a time she refused to do a Broadway play because she found out she was being offered less than half of what her male co-star was being offered.
“It was a situation where there were two people in a play and I was offered less than half what the male was offered. It would’ve felt undignified for me,” she said.
“I think everybody has to come together to do something. I think it’s outrageous in this day and age, when women are doing the same jobs as men that we are undervalued to that degree. But I also think that it comes from within women. And I think there is a global conversation happening that is really inspiring. But it’s going to take sacrifice.”

Jennifer Lawrence recently made headlines with an essay on this problem. In a piece called
Why Do I Make Less Than My Male Co-Stars, Lawrence said she was mad at herself when she realized she was being paid less than her male counterparts.
“It’s hard for me to speak about my experience as a working woman because I can safely say my problems aren’t exactly relatable. When the Sony hack happened and I found out how much less I was being paid than the lucky people with dicks, I didn’t get mad at Sony. I got mad at myself. I failed as a negotiator because I gave up early,” she wrote.
“Jeremy Renner, Christian Bale, and Bradley Cooper all fought and succeeded in negotiating powerful deals for themselves. If anything, I’m sure they were commended for being fierce and tactical, while I was busy worrying about coming across as a brat and not getting my fair share. Again, this might have NOTHING to do with my vagina, but I wasn’t completely wrong when another leaked Sony email revealed a producer referring to a fellow lead actress in a negotiation as a “spoiled brat.” For some reason, I just can’t picture someone saying that about a man.”
Speaking of Bradley Cooper, who has starred with Lawrence in multiple films and is appearing in a new film with Sienna Miller, he recently made a pledge to reveal his salary information with female costars in order to help them get a fairer deal.
