Sarah Palin Says Husband’s Snowmobile Injuries Have Put Things Into Perspective

Sarah Palin said this week that seeing her husband seriously injured in a snowmobile accident has “really put things into perspective”, but she didn’t clarify what that may mean for her time campaigning for Donald Trump.

Palin’s husband, Todd, broke eight ribs and injured his collarbone and lungs in the accident, which happened near their hometown of Wasilla, Alaska. He reportedly underwent surgery on Monday but is expected to make a full recovery. Sarah was in Florida at the time on the campaign trail, but flew home to be with her husband.

“Thank you, guys, for your prayers for my husband who is recovering right now in the ICU after a little wreck on a snowmachine…When real life happens it really puts things in perspective doesn’t it?” Sarah Palin said.

Sarah Palin was scheduled to speak at an event for Trump in Florida but was forced to cancel. The former vice presidential nominee has openly supported Trump since he announced his campaign, often showing up at rallies on his behalf.

“I am greatly honored to receive Sarah’s endorsement. She is a friend, and a high-quality person whom I have great respect for. I am proud to have her support,” Donald Trump told the New York Times.

Donald Trump has surprised many voters with his continued lead in the GOP race, but one writer says she believes she understands why that is, and predicts that the battle between Trump and Hillary Clinton will only escalate.

“It will be a war. Trump is popular because he is channeling the anxiety of those who are losing power — white men — to those who are gaining it — women and minorities— and he is willing to say anything that expresses that hate,” said Rebecca Traister, author of All The Single Ladies.

As for the Palins, they’ve asked for privacy while Todd recuperates, but have thanked fans for their support over the last few days. Bristol Palin shared a photo of Todd on Instagram, calling him the “toughest guy” she knows.
