Ryan Murphy, creator of “American Horror Story”, tweeted out what appears to be the new logo for the show’s upcoming fourth season, and fans have taken to social media today to share their excitement.
Murphy announced last week that the new season will take place at a carnival, which opens up a whole new weird world of possibilities for the scary series. Millions have tuned in each week since the first season aired on FX in 2011; since then, each season has featured a new story, a different setting, and new characters/actors, although there are a few who have appeared in more than one series. Jessica Lange has starred in each one, but it’s rumored that season four will be her last, sadly.
“I think Ryan was maybe even surprised by how fast and how dark it got last year,” Lange said of season 2 in October. “Of course, that’s right up my alley. I like that a lot. But I think this season was a deliberate attempt to lighten it and add some humor. And I’m not against humor; my sensibilities just always tend toward the more tragic or the darker.”
Murphy won’t reveal too much about a given season, but he did say last year that Lange will get to fill a role that she’s always wanted in season four.
“I can’t say anything. All I’ll say is, Jessica Lange has always wanted to play a Marlene Dietrich figure, and now she gets to,” he teased.
