Rupert Murdoch might be having trouble finding people who want to engage in highly intellectual and insightful discourse on Twitter, but that’s not stopping him from using the micro-blogging site for one of its most revered purposes: complaining.
As you can see in the tweet above, Murdoch bemoaned the lack of civility on Twitter and went so far in his hyperbolic post as to say that Twitter “shows real social decay.” As if to punctuate his point, a few Twitterers weren’t going to let Murdoch sulk his way into the night without a little ridiculing affirmation.
@rupertmurdoch Is this the most shamelessly hypocritical statement ever made by anyone, ever?
@rupertmurdoch hahaha! I love these spoof comedy accounts! Keep up the good work “Rupert” *winks*
@rupertmurdoch I find that in life one reaps what one sows…
@rupertmurdoch free speech, bitch
Despite the frustration, Murdoch doesn’t appear to be ready to abandon all hope just yet. He’s been a Twittery bee today with attempts to engage other Twitterers with only the most couth and cosmopolitan of comments.
@Janiete. See next day’s Sun. No offense taken by Woy. See football grounds. Get a life.
Amazing Boris win overcoming 15 percent built in labour majority in London plus huge national swing against Tories. Watch Cameron change.
So Hollande wins in France, promises “new Europe”. We’ll see. Meanwhile Le Pen prepares for leadership of Right. Not pretty prospect.
@robdan54 right, people sick of promises. Toffs underestimate people every time.
@danbrusca Only racists tweeting are Israel haters. Sadly, too many.
@BNewsCentre Don’t buy it, dummy.
Alas, the Rupert Murdoch Twitter Experiment continues. But let us remember the flawless example of public discourse st before us by the paragon of politesse himself.
