“I know you want it…”
Do we, Robin? Do we really?
In the past year, singer Robin Thicke has often been at the top of entertainment headlines. From his controversial performance with Miley Cyrus on the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards to his rocky marriage with actress Paula Patton, the American-Canadian musician just won’t go away – although he probably should.
Here are 5 reasons why Mr. Thicke should hang up his Beatlejuice-striped suit and retire into the Canadian Rockies:
1. He Sings Kind-of-Rapey Songs
No doubt anyone who turned on the radio last summer heard Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” release. The pop song was heavily criticized for being sexist and promoting a “rape culture” with lyrics like “OK now he was close, tried to domesticate you, but you’re an animal, baby, it’s in your nature, just let me liberate you” and “I feel so lucky … You wanna hug me … What rhymes with hug me?” (Pug me? Bug me? Fug me?)

But that’s not the only song that the 37-year old released that was questionable. In his 2009 release, “Sex Therapy,” the lyrics were just as charming.
“Just let me love you, lay right here, girl, don’t be scared of me
Give you sex therapy, give you sex therapy”
I have a feeling we would need a different kind of therapy after “just laying there.” But thanks anyway.
2. He’s a Suspected Cheat
On August 25, headlines claimed that Thicke had cheated on Patton after a picture surfaced of him groping a woman at a party. This woman later claimed that she and Thicke had indeed slept together after the photo was taken. Either way, he was groping another woman’s rear end and that in itself is enough to show some character of an individual.

3. He’s Turned to Movie Making
As if we haven’t heard enough about him, in October it was announced that Thicke was in the process of making his first movie. The short film, Mercy, is about a man who murders his cancer-stricken wife. Though he doesn’t play the murderer, Thicke plays the husband of a drug-addicted and alcoholic wife, played by his real wife, Paula Patton.
“I’ve always written my own songs, so [writing a movie] is just an extension of telling stories,” he told GQ last spring.
Sure. It’s just like that, isn’t it, Mr. Scorsese?
4. He Was on a Reality Show
Before the success of “Blurred Lines,” Thicke appeared on the BET reality show Real Husbands of Hollywood with Nelly, Nick Cannon, and Kevin Hart. However, it was just too much for him, claiming that he “couldn’t finish the album and promote the single and go over seas and do all these other things I wanted to do.”
All the things he wanted to do. You know, like perving out and not actually being a “real husband.”
Real Husbands of Hollywood has killed one marriage (Robin Thicke's) and put another one on the ropes (Nick Cannon's).

5. His father is Alan Thicke.
Apparently Alan Thicke has a reality show called "Unusually Thicke." What's the German word for throwing up in your mouth?

Enough said.
