Peyton Manning Works Out For Titans: What The Twitterverse Has To Say About It

NFL living legend Peyton Manning is reportedly working out for the Tennessee Titans on Saturday morning. This is significant for all kinds of reasons. A couple of the main ones are that he has been with the Indianapolis Colts for his entire NFL career, and secondarily, because the Titans are in the same division.

Oh yeah, and he also played college ball in Tennessee. And I wonder what Tennessee’s QB draft pick from last year, Jake Locker, thinks about all of this.

There aren’t many names in the NFL that are bigger than Manning’s, even though his brother has trumped him in Super Bowl wins.

Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk reports, citing the following tweet from Jonathan Hutton of 104.5 The Zone in Nashville (and NFL.com) that the workout will take place today (Saturday).

Peyton Manning passed his physical when he visited #Titans on Wednesday. He will workout for TEN Saturday at 10:45a. Don’t know where.(image) 10 hours ago via UberSocial for iPhone ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto

Word is that Peyton’s options have been narrowed down to the Titans, the Broncos and the 49ers. Any of these outcomes would make for a huge storyline for months to come. If it ends up being the Broncos, we’ll never hear the end of it.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter had an interesting tweet about Peyton’s future:

More incentive (we think): Shoney’s is offering Peyton Manning all the free pancakes he can eat every day if he signs with the Titans.(image) 1 day ago via UberSocial for BlackBerry ·  Reply ·  Retweet ·  Favorite · powered by @socialditto

We’ll leave it there. And yes, as a fan of an NFC team, I’d much rather see him stay in the AFC.
