Paul Walker Sunglasses Auctioned, Twitter Responds

Paul Walker suffered a tragic death over the Thanksgiving holiday last year in a fiery car accident, and millions of his fans and friends are still in mourning. So when someone posted the sunglasses he was reportedly wearing when he passed away on an auction site, many became upset.

According to the lot description: “As the consigner walked the scene in disbelief and grief, he found a pair of sunglasses nearby in the ivy. After showing one of the officers, he was waved off. The glasses were dirty so he wrapped them in a handkerchief and put them in his pocket.”

Portions of the proceeds from the auction–which included pieces of debris from the wreckage and a fire extinguisher–went to SavingAmericasMustangs.org, according to the site, but that didn’t soften the blow for Walker’s fans, who are in disbelief that not only was someone allowed to walk off with things from the crash site, but put them up for auction.

It’s not known for certain that the sunglasses did belong to Walker, but the seller says he confirmed they were through photos of the actor taken the day he died and a video which show him wearing a very similar style.
