If you are hopelessly devoted to Olivia Newton-John, I have good news for you—You will be able to see her live in Las Vegas this spring! According to the star’s official site, she will be taking up residency at the Flamingo for her “Summer Nights” show.
Newton-John announced her big news on the Today show via telephone early yesterday morning.
Newton-John, who is still gorgeous at 65, shared that she would be performing various shows throughout 2014 and that the first show is on April 8th. “I’m really excited,” the she gushed over the phone. It will hopefully be the first of many Las Vegas residencies for the singer/songwriter. The act will be performed in the Donny & Marie Showroom, which she described as a “lovely old style showroom.” The title of the show is taken from her hit duet with John Travolta, and signifies the strongly nostalgic nature that the performances will likely have.
Eileen Moore, regional president of the resort says that the Flamingo is really looking forward to having Newton-John perform there. “She has such a broad appeal and you can count all of us here at Flamingo among her adoring fan base; she’s the ‘one that we want’ and we can’t wait for her to call Flamingo home.”
The “Physical” singer has another reason to be enthusiastic about her performances at the Flamingo. Newton-John shared that a portion of the money made from ticket sales will be donated to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Center.
For those wanting to know what to expect, the “Summer Nights” show will be a virtual look back on the musical career of the songstress. It will feature songs such as “Have You Never Been Mellow,” “Let Me Be There,” “If You Love Me Let Me Know”, and of course, “I Honestly Love You”. She will also be singing songs from some of her more famous movie appearances, such as “Grease” and “Xanadu”.
Tickets go on sale on February 8th.
