Nicolle Wallace to Bid Adieu to ‘The View’

Nicolle Wallace–who was recently deemed “Kardashian illiterate” is the next in a line of people to bid adieu to The View. ABC News has run the show since October, and hired Wallace as part of an attempt to re-work the show. They are letting Nicolle Wallace go because of double-digit ratings drops since she came on board.

Offered the option to stay on The View as a contributor, Nicolle Wallace declined, meaning she won’t reappear on the next season of the show.

Nicolle Wallace’s departure means every new co-host brought on to The View for this season will have left. Rosie O’Donnell was in and back out quickly. Rosie Perez announced just last month that she was leaving, too.

“Team, Our friend Nicolle Wallace is going to leave the show at the conclusion of the season,” EP Bill Wolff said in a staff memo at ABC News.

Candace Cameron Bure is another of The View’s new co-hosts to recently come on board. And while she hasn’t been axed or given her resignation, she is away for a while, reprising her role as Full House’s D.J. Tanner in the show’s reboot, Fuller House.

Nicolle Wallace previously served as communications chief for former President George W. Bush, as well as senior adviser for the McCain-Palin presidential campaign.

How do you think The View will fare in Nicolle Wallace’s absence? Will she be missed or will most viewers applaud the decision to ax her?

Sherri Shepherd has agreed to come back on board as the powers that be work to find a permanent panel. Joy Behar was asked to return as well, but declined.
