Nicolle Wallace Learned She Was Axed from ‘The View’ from The Media

Nicolle Wallace was fired from The View just months after she signed on. Aside from being dismayed over the reason she was axed, Wallace was even more shocked by the way she found out she had been fired.

The reason–according to Nicolle Wallace–was that she didn’t argue enough on the hot topics The View covered. Typically there is some argument among the show’s co-hosts. Recently Raven Symone and Candace Cameron Bure battled it out over the bakery in Oregon that was ordered to make a wedding cake for a lesbian couple. The two really butted heads over the topic.

The way Nicolle Wallace learned she was fired wasn’t via a meeting or a phone call–or even a text message. She learned from reading it in the media.

“I loved the job. I had no plans of quitting. I think I thought that I would learn somewhere other than Variety that I’d been fired. It shattered my naivete about television. Listen, it’s all fair. I wasn’t wronged by anybody. But I was surprised to learn in the press about their decision not to bring me back,” Wallace said. “They never called me. The night your second story ran, they summoned my agent and told me they’d like to consider me for a contributor role, and they also made me an offer at ABC News to do the conventions and debates.”

“I had never had one note from anybody inside the entire organization during the entire season,” she continued. “No one said a word to me. Maybe I should have seen it coming. Not after a single show, a single Hot Topic, or a single interview. It was like being invisible. But not in an unpleasant way.”

Nicolle Wallace claims she got along with everyone on The View. Even though she admits things were tense when Rosie O’Donnell was on the show, she maintains they got along just fine. Wallace describes her friendship with Whoopi Goldberg as close.

Do you think The View owed Nicolle Wallace more than this? Didn’t she at least deserve a face-to-face meeting so she could understand why she was being let go?

Whether you’re a fan of Nicolle Wallace or not, you’ve got to admit that’s a really low blow.
