Netflix’s ‘Narcos’ Picks Up Another Cast Member

office tech trends

Earlier this month, we learned that Pedro Pascal, fresh off a memorable turn on Game of Thrones, will star opposite Wagner Moura in Netflix’s upcoming series Narcos.

Deadline is now reporting that Manolo Cardona has also joined the cast as a series regular.

Cardona’s acting credits date back to 1992 in the Columbian daytime series Padres e Hijos. U.S. audiences may recognize him from Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Some U.S. audiences anyway.

News about Narcos first emerged over a year ago, and the show signed Moura as well as its showrunner, Chris Brancato, back in April. Soon after, Netflix pushed the debut back to early 2015, with on-location filming in Colombia to begin this summer.

According to the previously released description, Narcos will “chronicle the life and death of Escobar, the ruthless cartel boss and known terrorist who also was a congressman, a family man and revered by the poor as a new Robin Hood….[It]begins with the hunt for Escobar but moves on to the rise and subsequent fall of the Cali cartel, the north valley cartel, and the move into Mexico.”

Netflix content chief Ted Sarandos has said that “this version of the Escobar saga will be like nothing ever seen before.”

We can’t wait.

Filming of another new Netflix show, Sense8, has just begun filming.
