Lions Star Ndamukong Suh Officially Breaks Twitter Record

In April, Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh held a tweetup at the Nebraska Cornhuskers spring game, with the goal of brewing the Guinness World Record for most attendees at a tweetup. This was made more interesting by the fact that the record holder was Scott Monty – Ford’s social media guy and that the Detroit Lions are owned by William Clay Ford, grandson of Henry Ford and son of Edsel Ford.

Suh tweeted after the event that he did in fact break the record, but Guinness World Records had not made it official, saying that evidence would need to be submitted and reviewed.

Suh tweeted this week that it has now been made official.

Ndamudkong Suh Tweetup Record Certificate

He is apparently so proud of the accomplishment that he changed his Twitter bio to read “Detroit Lions Defensive Tackle and Guinness World Record Holder for World’s Largest Tweetup! #SUHTweetup”.

Personally, I’m looking more forward to the accomplishments he is destined to rack up on the field with his new fellow tackle Nick Fairley (provided there is an NFL season).

Interestingly, Monty is still listed as the record holder on the Guinness World Records site. They might want to get that update before SUH gets angry:

You can watch a couple of interviews we did with Monty here.
