Mrs. Doubtfire Sequel In The Works, Funny Man Robin Williams Back

The 1993 huge hit, “Mrs. Doubtfire”, which brought the studios over $441 million in ticket sales, is gearing up for a repeat performance.

It’s time for more laughs with “Mrs. Doubtfire” star Robin Williams, reunited with director Chris Columbus, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Mrs. Doubtfire starred Williams as a struggling actor who was thrown out and divorced by his wife. The two have three kids and in order to be closer to his children, he takes on the persona of Scottish nanny, Euphegenia Doubtfir.

The film won two Golden Globe awards, the ‘Best Picture (Musical/Comedy)’ award and ‘Best Actor (Musical/Comedy)’ for Robin Williams’s performance, and also won an Oscar for best makeup.

Its no wonder, that latex mask was priceless, as were the breasts that caught fire at one point in the film.

This time though, “Elf” screenwriter David Berenbaum will be writing the script, sure to bring a laughable twist to the story.

“The cool thing with Mrs. Doubtfire is there’s a character, there’s a woman, who is actually going to look exactly as she did in 1993,” said director Chris Columbus.

‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ also starred Sally Field and Pierce Brosnan, no word yet if they are on board, but it is definite, the actress that played Matilda, Mara Wilson won’t be back.
