Miranda Lambert Takes In Cat Friend Rescued From Highway

Miranda Lambert is a well-known animal lover, so it’s no surprise that she agreed to take in a cat her friend rescued from the highway recently.

The country star shared a photo on Instagram of herself holding the kitty with the caption, “Play me a song Curtis Loew Curtis Loew,” which likely hints at her new friend’s name. The cat was found abandoned on the highway in Arkansas by a friend of Lambert’s, who stopped by to visit and brought the feline along.

Miranda has said in the past that her animals are like her children, and that they keep her grounded no matter how famous she gets. Whether she’s busy with a tour or songwriting, her pets come first.

“My animals totally keep me grounded. They don’t know ‘Miranda Lambert’ they know ‘mom.’ The first thing they want is to be fed or go outside. Even if it’s snowing and 10 degrees Fahrenheit outside on tour, I have to get up and walk them. As soon as I get off stage they are waiting to greet me. They love the person I am even if I never sing another note,” she told Modern Dog Magazine.

Miranda Lambert made headlines recently when she publicly announced her split from husband Blake Shelton. Shelton made an appearance on CMT’s Hot 20 Countdown Show recently and said that while he was taking the breakup pretty hard at first, he’s doing much better now.

“I’m good, I’m good. I’m in a good place. I wasn’t, but I am now. It’s amazing how quickly life can turn around for you. I’ve had some pretty cool things in recent times that have happened, and I’m loving it,” Shelton said.
