Lollapalooza organizers announced their 2012 line-up yesterday. Headliners will include the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys, Black Sabbath, Jack White, Florence + The Machine, At the Drive-In, Bassnectar, and The Shins among others.
According to Lollapalooza’s video, the festival will take place in Chicago’s Grant Park from August 3rd to the 5th.
The music festival hosts more than 160,000 people over a three day period and was conceived and created in 1991 by Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell as a farewell tour for his band. Lollapalooza, a slang term for excellent, ran annually until 1997, and was revived in 2003.
According to The Huffington Post, “The festival’s early bird, $200 passes sold out in a matter of minutes when ticket sales went live. Full-price tickets to the three-day festival are still available for $230.”
