Lionel Messi Now El Clasico’s All-Time Leading Goal Scorer

Lionel Messi has just become El Clasico’s all-time leading goal scorer, after scoring three goals in the game between Futbol Club Barcelona and Real Madrid Club de Futbol last Sunday. Messi is FC Barcelona’s forward and considered by many as the greatest footballer of all time.

The El Clasico is any match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The match, held at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid, closed with FC Barcelona winning 4-3.

The El Clasico game was heated, and Barca struck first due to a pass from Messi to Andres Iniesta. Iniesta put Barcelona in the lead by the 7th minute.

However, Real Madrid managed to catch up in the 20th minute when Karim Benzema and Angel Di Maria crossed off Barca’s Victor Valdez. Soon, Benzema and Di Maria scored another goal in the 24th minute, making the score 2-1.

Messi’s agility matched the score at 2-2, and later won the game with a completed hat-trick, using a penalty kick over goalie Diego Lopez.

A hat-trick is used to describe three points made in a single game by a player.

Real Madrid’s team had a big improvement from last year, with Luka Modric’s top shape and Gareth Bale’s addition being highlights of the team. However, Real Madrid’s plan to outscore and overpower FC Barcelona failed, with two Barca penalties shooting through the goal.

The victory puts FC Barcelona one point ahead of Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in La Liga’s title race.

FC Barcelona manager Gerardo Martino believed that “it was over for us” if they lost the match. According to him, the team will now fight until the end.

Messi’s record-breaking scoring comes after winning three consecutive FIFA Ballon d’Or and the FIFA World Player of the Year awards. At 25, he is also the youngest player to score 200 La Liga goals.
