Lindsey Vonn Ready To Return To Skiing After Injury

Lindsey Vonn says she could possibly return to skiing sooner that she had originally planned.

She hasn’t raced in almost a year due to having two surgeries on a torn ACL which, unfortunately, made her unable to attend the Sochi Olympics.

The 2010 Olympic Downhill champion had planned to make her return at the races in Lake Louise, Alberta, during the first week of December.

However, Lindsey Vonn is doing so well, she is thinking about the possibility of making her big comeback at the events in Aspen, Colorado, over Thanksgiving weekend.

Nothing is for certain yet, though, and she wants to make that perfectly clear.

”You know me, I never rule anything out until the last minute,” said Lindsey Vonn. ”At the same time, I need to also be more reserved than I was last year. I think Lake Louise is the perfect place for me to start. That’s still the plan.”

She added, ”But you never know. Things could change if I start skiing incredibly fast. I can’t rule it completely out.”

Lindsey Vonn is making quite the quick recovery, but she says she still isn’t at 100% yet.

”I’d say I’m 85%,” she said. ”I feel like I need a little bit more training, more repetition. Otherwise, the technique and stuff is all there. Just need to get the tactics down, get some more reps. I’ll be in good shape after a couple more training sessions.”

Lindsey Vonn later added of her situation, ”I’m a little more tentative still on the more difficult terrain. That just comes with time. With more training and more confidence, I’ll be good.”

What do you think? Are you excited to see Lindsey Vonn return?
