Lights Over Paris Singer Sentenced to Prison

The lead singer of the Los Angeles rock band, Lights Over Paris, has been sentenced to seven years in prison for loan fraud. Frontman, Robb “TaLLLLL” University (born as Robert Mawhinney) was charged in January for a series of fraudulent loans.

Mawhinney wasn’t being honest when he provided false documents to back up his loan claims. The 30-year-old rocker had applied for over $11 million in loans in hopes of kicking off and sustaining his music career. However, it turns out, the singer had less than $10,000 in the bank.

That’s a big difference from the nearly $8 million he said he had in funds.

Apparently the musician lead quite the extravagant lifestyle. Part of the funds went towards a rather pricey tour bus for the band. And it seems interesting a band would put that much money into a bus when they’re not exactly “there” yet.

Mawhinney pleaded guilty on April 22 to four counts of making false statements to federally insured banks and one count of money laundering.

Unfortunately though, it seems the singer didn’t learn his lesson. The very next day, the singer filed more fake statements in hopes of gaining credit.

So what does that mean for Lights Over Paris? Maybe they’ll be having auditions…Just look for the giant tour bus and surely you’ll be able to find the guys.
