Lena Headey Was Often Sick to Her Stomach When Filming “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies”

Lena Headey recalls feeling sick to her stomach frequently while filming Pride and Prejudice, and Zombies. It wasn’t the bloodied extras lying at her feet that made her feel that way, however.

“I was obviously pregnant with my daughter Ted and I was thinking, she’s in my belly and I’m doing this, it’s quite bizarre,” Lena Headey says in a recent interview with the New York Daily News just ahead of the film’s premiere.

“It was the early days of my pregnancy and I felt absolutely hideous every day,” she adds. “Maybe all this zombie-killing will be in her DNA someday.”

That baby girl is now seven months old, and Lena Headey is obviously feeling much better these days, but she’s certain that blood and gore will be in her baby’s genes. That’s because in addition to her role in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Headey also plays the role of Cersei Lannister on Game of Thrones. In fact she credits that role for allowing her to stand over corpses and maintain her composure.

“I’m so f—–g lucky to be able to grow with Cersei,” Lena Headey says. “The fact that they haven’t killed me is a miracle. I guess the moment I’m dead on ‘Thrones,’ you’ll never want to speak to me again.”

People will surely be speaking to and about Lena Headey for a very long time to come.
