Lena Dunham said she has deleted her Twitter account, citing her emotional stability as the reason for the break from social media.
The break didn’t last long.
According to the New York Post, the Girls star told multiple media sources on the Golden Globes red carpet Sunday that she deleted her Twitter account.
“I deleted Twitter because I wanted to create a safer space for myself emotionally,” the actress told E!. “People threaten my life and tell me what a cow I am.”
Although her account is still active, Dunham she will “check it occasionally” but it’s “not the same co-dependence” that it used to be for her.
“People threaten my life and tell me what a cow I am,” she said of comments posted to her account.

Only time will tell if she means what she said. She tweeted just a few hours before the Golden Globes red carpet to promote the Sunday night season premiere of Girls.
On Monday, she made this clarification about deleting her Twitter account.
I deleted Twitter from my phone and sometimes send a tweet to a friend I trust to post if I'm out and about and wanna share
