Lakeisha Holloway, the 24-year-old suspect in Sunday night’s deadly crash on the Las Vegas Strip, had her three-year-old daughter in her car when she veered the 1996 Oldsmobile onto the Vegas sidewalk, killing one person and injuring several others.
On Tuesday, Lakeisha Holloway was charged with murder with a deadly weapon, along with one count of leaving the scene of an accident, which is also a felony. She will likely be charged with child abuse, neglect or endangerment, in connection with the presence of her child in the car at the time of the crash.

In her arrest report, authorities noted, “She would not explain why she drove onto the sidewalk but remembered a body bouncing off of her windshield, breaking it.”
Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson indicated more charges are likely.
“Our hearts go out to the victims and their families,” he said in a statement. “This is a horrendous and inexcusable act that has needlessly and tragically impacted countless lives. I am confident that, as the investigation unfolds, we will be filing many more charges against Ms. Holloway.”
No one seems sure why Lakeisha Holloway deliberately caused the crash.
“We believe that she had some disassociation with the father of her child,” Clark County Sheriff Joe Lombardo said.
Investigators believe Lakeisha Holloway had only been in Las Vegas for about a week–homeless and living out of her car.
A family representative said that isn’t the case, however, explaining she had a job and comes from a loving family.

Three of Lakeisha Holloway’s victims were reportedly in critical condition on Tuesday. Two others are in serious condition.
What made Lakeisha Holloway snap and drive her car into all of those people? Investigators certainly have their work cut out for them as they work to find out why.
Certainly many prayers are being said for the deceased and injured victims.
