Kate Upton Talks Sex Symbol Image And Criticism

Ever since that video of Kate Upton doing the Dougie dance went viral, she’s pretty much been all over the place. From magazine covers, to red carpets, and she’s even broken down Hollywood doors by starring along side Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann in the new film The Other Woman.

And it’s not just that. She’s also become a new kind of sex symbol, one that isn’t just beautiful, but funny, social media savvy, and unpretentious.

But the 21 year old said she’s very mindful not to come off too sexy, and she believes there’s a fine line between being alluring and being cheesy, and she does her best to tow that line properly, she said.

“There’s a line between becoming, you know, a little cheap and cheesy versus being sexy,” she said in an interview with Vogue magazine. “And I try to be very careful of that line.”

And as far as the videos of her doing the Dougie dance and another one of the blonde beauty doing the Cat Daddy dance in a red bikini, she said it’s something she would have done even if she wasn’t famous, but admits she might do things differently today.

“Its just a part of my personality,” said Upton. “And maybe some things I took too far, but I like being sexy.”

She also spoke a little about receiving criticism and says because she’s not ultra thin, some people give her a lot of trouble for it, but she does her best to ignore it all.

“The things that they’re rejecting are things that I can’t change,” stated Upton.

“I can’t change my bra size. They’re natural. I can work out and I can stay healthy and motivated, but I can’t change some things. I really just live my life. I love my body. It’s what God gave me. I feel confident with myself, and if that inspires other women to feel confident with their bodies great.”
