Kate Mara: Her Dad Hates Her Adorable Pixie Cut

Kate Mara began a quest to shorten her locks at the beginning of the summer when she cut off a significant length.

Soon after, Kate Mara just went for it and chopped it into a really great pixie cut.

And everyone loved it. What’s not to love? I mean a lot of people just can’t pull off a pixie, but Kate Mara has the perfect face for it.

Her stylist, Mara Roszak (I know, that’s a weird coincidence) said, “A pixie is something that is a major decision to do; the person has to be prepared, and she immediately owned it.”

Roszak added, “She has such beautiful bone structure and features, so I knew going pixie would be perfect on her. It’s something she’s always wanted to do and the response has been amazing.”

However, Kate Mara told Kelly Ripa on Tuesday’s episode of Live with Kelly and Michael that her own dad doesn’t like his little girl’s new haircut.

Kate Mara was first grilled by Kelly Ripa on the ease of caring for her new ‘do.

When Kelly asked if it was more work or less, Kate Mara replied, “Oh, less! I don’t have to wash it now, I don’t have to brush it. I love it.”

However, when Kelly asked her about everyone’s reaction to it, Kate Mara had to admit she had the one nay-sayer.

She said, “I got a lot of nice things, but I got one sort of negative thing said to me. I text messaged my dad the other day saying ‘I miss you’, and his response was, ‘I miss your hair.’ So, thanks Dad!”

Dads. What are ya gonna do?

The low-key interview was likely a breeze compared to the awkward one endured Kate Mara and her Fantastic 4 co-star, Michael B. Jordan, endured from Atlanta’s Rock 100.5 Morning Show, in which they were asked to explain how their characters could be brother and sister.

Kate Mara later told HuffPost Live of the interview, “It’s just ignorance. Sometimes journalists use that [interview] room as a safety net to ask questions they never would have asked you outside of that room.”

That really was an awkward question. I mean, come on.

What do you think of Kate Mara’s pixie? Could you pull it off?
