Julianne Hough To Judge Dancing With The Stars

Julianne Hough got her start on Dancing With The Stars, and now she is back for more. Don’t expect to see Hough competing though, she will be seated at the judges table.

Hough said that she was excited to be back on the show and to be able to offer her advice and perspective to the dancers.

“After being on tour with my brother [Derek], it felt like time to move on,” Hough said. “I felt like I really reconnected with fans, and the people have supported me since day one. They have followed me from Dancing with the Stars to my other aspirations. It just feels like the perfect time to reconnect and be a part of where it all began, with my family.”

Hough will be judging some of the same people she danced with when she was on the show the first time around, including long-timers Cheryl Burke, Mark Ballas, Karina Smirnoff and Tony Dovolani. She will also have to judge her own brother, Derek Hough.

Hough said she isn’t worried about judging her brother or her friends and believes that she will be non-biased towards them all.

“Derek has been known to be very good with his partnerships,” Hough says, laughing. “But it’s not about my brother, nor is it about Cheryl or Mark. It’s about the partnership and the celebrity who is dancing.”

Dancing with the Stars returns Monday, Sept. 15, at 8 p.m. ET, with 12 new dancers. The celebrity dancers will be announced on Sept. 4 on Good Morning America.
