Joe Giudice Now an Inmate at Fort Dix Correctional Institution in New Jersey, “Real Housewives of New Jersey” Star Serving 41-Month Sentence

Joe Giudice kissed wife Teresa Giudice goodbye on Wednesday, and reported to the Fort Dix Correctional Institution in New Jersey, where he will spend the next 41 months for fraud.

Teresa will take her turn as the parent for the better part of the next four years, to daughters Gia, 15, Gabriella, 11, Milania, 10, and Audriana, six, like Joe did while Teresa was in prison on related charges.

Teresa Giudice was released before Christmas 2015, after serving 11 months at Connecticut’s Danbury Federal Correctional Institution.

Family attorney James J. Leonard Jr. issued a statement on behalf of the Giudice family following Joe Giudice’s arrival at the prison on Wednesday.

“Joe Giudice surrendered himself to the Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix today at 12 p.m. to begin serving his sentence. His brother, his sister and several other members of the Giudice family, as well as myself, were present when he turned himself in to the prison, including [his wife] Teresa,” the statement reads. “It was obviously a very emotional day, but this is a very strong family with a tremendous support system and they will get through this, just as they did when Teresa was away.”

In an earlier interview, Joe Giudice talked of his upcoming prison sentence as a rehab stint of sorts.

“I’m looking at it like rehabilitation for me,” he said. “I am not going to be able to drink for a while which is good because I don’t even know when it’s been since I haven’t had a drink. It’s been a long time. Definitely the whole year I definitely drank every day a couple bottles at night just to go to bed.”

Joe Giudice faces deportation following his prison sentence. Teresa Giuduce has long said if Joe is deported, she and their girls will follow him back to Italy.
