Jennifer Lopez had quite a bit to say about ex Ben Affleck’s new back tattoo when she sat down for an interview with Andy Cohen recently, calling it “awful”.
Lopez says Ben has always had an affinity for colorful tattoos and they’re just too much.
“It’s awful! What are you doing? His tattoos always have too many colors, they shouldn’t be so colorful. They should be cooler,” Jennifer said.
Lopez isn’t the only Jennifer in Ben’s life who’s not a fan of the new ink; Jennifer Garner, who split from Affleck last year amid rumors that he had been unfaithful with their nanny, said in a recent Vanity Fair interview that if the tattoo of a giant phoenix is supposed to represent Ben rising from the ashes of their relationship, she’s not having it.
“You know what we would say in my hometown about that? ‘Bless his heart.’ A phoenix rising from the ashes. Am I the ashes in this scenario? I take umbrage. I refuse to be the ashes.”
Jennifer Garner went pretty in-depth in the interview, saying she married Ben for who he was and not who he was in the glare of Hollywood’s spotlight. But sometimes, she recalled, it wasn’t always easy to love him.
“I didn’t marry the big fat movie star; I married him. He’s the love of my life. What am I going to do about that? He’s the most brilliant person in any room, the most charismatic, the most generous. He’s just a complicated guy. I always say, ‘When his sun shines on you, you feel it.’ But when the sun is shining elsewhere, it’s cold. He can cast quite a shadow.”
Jennifer Garner took to the Oscars after-party with Ben over the weekend, although news sources noted they left separately. Jen’s former Alias co-star, Victor Garber, spoke about her poise while on the red carpet, noting that she was handling everything so well.
“She’s dealing with a lot of stress and pain, and dealing with it in, I think, a magnificent way. I’ve always found her to be incredibly authentic. It’s part of why people, I think, are drawn to her, because she is real. She also has a great capacity for love. You know, her children are her passion. And so, all that said, she’s dealing with the situation, I think, miraculously.”
