Jennifer Lawrence Buys Home In LA That Used To Be Jessica Simpson’s

The gated community of Beverly Crest in Los Angeles will soon welcome a new resident in Jennifer Lawrence, who recently bought a home there for $8.225 million. The home purchased by Lawrence was owned previously by singer Jessica Simpson, who sold it last year for $6.4 million.

Lawrence apparently bought the home from its current owner, Sydney Holland, who is the girlfriend of Viacom and CBS executive chairman Sumner Redstone. Holland put the house up for sale in July, and the property was listed by Branden Williams and Rayni Romito of Hilton & Hyland/Christie’s International Real Estate. Meanwhile, Lawrence was represented by Leah Lail and Steve Frankel of Coldwell Banker. Simpson had listed the property in May 2013 nearer $8 million, but ended up selling it to Holland for less.

Lawrence can now enjoy her 5,500-square-foot French-style house with its high ceilings, five bedrooms and six bathrooms. The house also has an updated kitchen and an office, and is fronted by a koi pond within a stone and floral courtyard. A lawn and swimming pool can be used by Lawrence and her guests in the backyard.

The home purchase starts things afresh for Lawrence, who just ended her short relationship with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. The singer is reportedly regretting the breakup, however. According to HollywoodLife.com, Lawrence was upset with how much time Martin spent with his wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, with whom he was not divorced but “consciously uncoupled.”

“When that happened, Jen was left on the back burner and they broke up and now Gwyn is back in the picture,” said HollywoodLife.com’s source. “But now Chris is realizing that the relationship with Gwyneth is forever strained and that he has lost something special with Jen and now wants her back. It is a pretty crazy turn of events. If he didn’t play this game he would have still had Jen but it looks like he has lost her forever.”
