Jennifer Garner Producing Male Strip Club Pilot

Jennifer Garner, the West Virginian actress known for her role as Sydney Bristow on ABC’s ‘Alias,’ is set to executive produce a new pilot on FOX concerning an all-male strip club.

The hourlong drama, entitled ‘The Whole Shebang,’ concerns a newly single mother who inherits a strip club akin to the one featured in Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Magic Mike,’ and was penned by ‘Butter’ writer Jason Micallef. The main character “unexpectedly finds herself at the center of a dysfunctional, makeshift family that helps her take charge of her life,” according to the Hollywood Reporter. ‘The Whole Shebang’ will be produced by Garner’s Vandalia Films, in association with Warner Bros. Televison. Garner had previously worked with Micallef when she’d starred in ‘Butter.’

Garner can also be seen in the upcoming ‘Dallas Buyer’s Club,’ the true story of the life of Ron Woodford, a Texan suffering from the ravages of HIV in the eighties. Matthew McConaughey stars as the alcoholic, homophobic, frustrated ladies’ man who turns to smuggling drugs when the Food and Drug Administration fails to act fast enough.

In related news, Garner’s husband Ben Affleck has taken a bit of heat regarding his casting as the new Batman in the upcoming ‘Man of Steel’ sequel. Fans have been petitioning to somehow have the president to make sure Affleck doesn’t star in any superhero films for the next 200 years.
