Jennette McCurdy: Trouble With Nickelodeon

Jennette McCurdy is known for playing outspoken and confident characters on screen and it turns out she is just as outspoken and confident in real life. Racy photos of McCurdy were recently released online and McCurdy handled the situation with maturity and didn’t even seem fazed by the leak.

McCurdy skipped out on the Teen Choice Awards this year and many people suspected it was because of the photos and rumors surrounding the photos. McCurdy created a post on Twitter to let fans know why she had skipped the event, but the tweet seemed to only add to the confusion. She tweeted,

“A lot of you guys are asking why I didn’t attend the KCAs…. I wish I could explain everything as thoroughly as I would like to, but unfortunately a simpler explanation is all I can write. I was put in an uncomfortable, compromising, unfair situation (many of you have guessed what it is) and I had to look out for me. I chose to not go because sticking up for what is right and what is fair is what my mom taught me is ALWAYS the most important thing. I want to thank those of you who have reached out with kind words of support, McCurdians and Arianators alike. No matter who or what you support, I believe in supporting fairness first. If you have done that, thank you.”

A short time later she posted more tweets that seemed to clear things up a bit for her fans.

Is spite of McCurdy’s post, many people still believe that the issues between McCurdy and the Nickelodeon network stem back to the photos. Others have speculated that McCurdy and her costar Ariana Grande may be arguing or that McCurdy is not happy with the amount of money she is making from the show.

Nickelodeon would not comment on any problems between the network and McCurdy, but did confirm that they would be halting the next season of the show Sam & Cat. They insist that the reason is because the previous season took a long time to film and they are trying to give everyone a break.

“We are wrapping up what was an unusually long production cycle of Sam & Cat, and everyone is understandably tired. We are going into our production hiatus next week which will give everyone on the show a much needed rest,” said a Nickelodeon rep.

Fans of McCurdy can rest assured that she will be returning to Nickelodeon regardless of any problems between her and the company.
