It was difficult for Jenna Coleman to film those final scenes. After all, she played Clara Oswald since 2012.
“I couldn’t stop crying after I filmed my final scenes–it was ridiculous to get emotional. I’d planned all these things I wanted to say but only got two words out,” she says.
Fans watched as Clara Oswald’s life was ended by a deadly raven known as a “Quantum Spirit,” which the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) explained to her is “a spirit bound to a victim, you could flee across all of time and all of the universe and it would still find you.”

Jenna Coleman’s character sealed her fate in a previous episode, whens she offered to take on the death sentence imposed upon her friend Rigsy. Nonetheless, Clara believed the combination of Ashildr’s and the Doctor’s powers would be enough to save her.
