HBO Go Launching On Xbox 360 April 1st, Just In Time For Game Of Thrones

April Fools Day joke or legit? Apparently, HBO Go is coming to the Xbox 360 on April 1st.

During an HBO event in San Francisco Monday night, HBO co-president Eric Kessler told Engadget that Microsoft’s console will finally be getting the much-anticipated HBO Go app on the first day of April. When Microsoft released the latest Xbox 360 dashboard update back in December, users were greeted with a “coming soon” placeholder for the HBO Go app. HBO said that it would roll out sometime in 2012.

And now it looks like users will only have to wait a little over a month to watch their favorite HBO shows, documentaries, comedy specials, and more right from their Xbox console. If the amount of use my Xbox 360 Netflix app receives is any indication, the HBO Go app is going to get quite a bit of action.

So, just who will be able to access the app? That remains to be seen. Of course, like all of the Xbox apps, you’ll need a paid subscription to the service. As of right now, HBO Go for desktop, smartphone, and tablet is not available through all internet providers. But people who subscribe to big name services like Comcast, DIRECTV, DISH Network, TIme Warner Cable, and Verizon currently all have access (with a paid HBO subscription of course).

April 1st…April 1st…I know something is happening on that day. For the life of me I can’t remember what it w…OH YEAH – THIS:
