“Gone Girl” Releases Teaser Trailer Starring Ben Affleck [Video]

For anyone that has read the book, and for some that haven’t, Gone Girl is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The film will be another intense thriller for Ben Affleck, and features a mysterious tale about his wife going missing.

Gone Girl stars Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne, a man who’s wife goes missing on the day of their wedding anniversary. She mysteriously disappears, and as Nick desperately tries to find out what happen, he also becomes a suspect. While the trailer is now being unveiled, fans initially got excited when the film’s first picture was released.

As with every police investigation, he becomes a suspect in his wife Amy Dunne’s disppearance, but in the trailer, he can be heard saying “I did not kill my wife.” The question is, what did happen to her? 20th Century Fox released the film’s first teaser on Monday, and there will surely be more to come before the film’s release.

The film is based on the novel Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. The book was published in 2012, and quickly went on the New York Times’ best seller list. In addition to Gone Girl, Flynn has also written Sharp Objects and Dark Places, which also has a film coming out later this year.

The book begins with Amy already missing, but goes back and forth between a narrative of the search for her, and her diary entries, which slowly start to give clues about what may have happened to her. Rosamund Pike plays the role of Amy Dunne, a woman who is dealing with a tough marriage, and what plays out is an incredibly thrilling plot that had readers around the world hooked.

In addition to Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, the film features a cast that includes Neil Patrick Harris, Patrick Fugit, Tyler Perry, and Kim Dickens. The film is directed by David Fincher, who has done previous hit films such as Fight Club, The Social Network, and Seven.

Gone Girl will be released in theaters on October 3rd, 2014. Fans of the Gillian Flynn’s other book, Dark Places, will also want to keep that book’s adaptation on their radar, which will be released on September 14, 2014.
