The rumors are true! Ryan Gosling and his longtime girlfriend Eva Mendes are expecting their first child together.
Speculation has been surrounding the couple that a baby may be on the way, after rumors started on Wednesday, July 9 that the Hitch star was seven months pregnant. However, it hasn’t been confirmed until now.
PEOPLE revealed that the gossip is no longer gossip, and that the couple will soon be proud parents to a baby boy or girl (the gender hasn’t been revealed yet.) This will be the first child for both Ryan and Eva, who played parents on the 2012 film Place Beyond the Pines.
The couple started dating in 2011, however they haven’t been photographed together since November 2013, and Eva hasn’t been photographed since March. Has she been trying to hide something? Apparently so. Earlier this year, Eva laughed off pregnancy rumors when they were addressed by talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.
“It all started because I didn’t want to go through the scanners at the airport. You know those X-ray scanners, which are really creepy? They basically see you naked, right? And not only that, but there’s a radiation aspect to it, so I always opt out,” Mendes explained at the time.
Ryan was also the center of a baby scandal when a Facebook post reported that the Notebook star had allegedly adopted a little boy.
“This father’s day, I’ve decided to tell the story of how I became a father,” the post began. “This little guy was only 9 months old when I became his dad. His mom and I were great friends before she passed away from cancer. I promised her, I’d always look after him. So, I had decided to step up and become his dad. He brought me so much joy. He was my everything. 1 year later after the adoption, his biological father wanted him. Of course, I put up a fight, but he won. That 1 year of being his father taught me how to love unconditionally. We have to stop and be thankful for our children and children should stop and be thankful for their parents. What I truly learned most of all is, every child needs love.”
The post fooled over 900,000 fans, who truly believed the heartfelt story.
