Emma Watson probably didn’t imagine when she was just a wee lass on the set of “Harry Potter” that she would eventually become an international star gracing the covers of magazines the world over, but that’s just what she’s doing these days. The girl who portrayed bushy-haired Hermione as a child grew into a lovely young woman, and now she’s being recognized for all she does by GQ UK, who named her Woman Of The Year.
According to the magazine–which praised the young actress for her portrayal of Nicki in Sofia Coppola’s “The Bling Ring”–Watson has entirely shed the image of the iconic character she brought to life as a child with the carefully chosen roles she’s taken on, a difficult feat for most actors.
“She has a grace and a level-headedness rare amongst former child stars, and is quickly becoming one of Britain’s most exciting leading ladies,” GQ said of their WOTY.
Watson is stunning on the cover of this month’s issue, looking every bit the young British starlet she is; however, she’s gotten some flack for the outfit she chose to wear to the awards ceremony, which included an ivory Balenciaga bolero top that exposed her belly and high-waisted black trousers.
The actress tweeted about her time at the awards show, thanking the magazine for honoring her.
@BritishGQMud throwing, general hilarity and great company at the awards tonight.Very proud to be part of your female contingency.thank you!
