Ellen Page Bashes Anti-Gay Pastor On Twitter

Nobody messes with Ellen Page, that’s for sure.

Over the weekend, the 27 year old actress took to her Twitter account to respond to a pastor that criticized her for being gay.

The actual message that Page received from the pastor is unknown and hasn’t been revealed yet, but she still gave him a piece of her mind, and said she didn’t care for his criticism at all.

Apparently, the pastor said that Page was confusing her sexuality with a belief system, which made the Juno star shoot back, and she explained to the pastor that she had no desire to be a Christian or follow what others feel she should be doing with her life.

“2 da pastor who wrote me being gay isn’t a belief. My soul isn’t struggling and I don’t want arms of Heavenly Father around me. A girls arms? Yes,” tweeted Page.

The brief exchange comes on the heels of the actress coming out of the closet last month at a LGBT conference in Las Vegas, and although Page hasn’t spoken a lot about her sexuality since then, people have kind of placed her in an activist role, but some might say she stepped into that role herself when she attended the conference and spoke out so publicly.

Page has also been very vocal about feminism in the past, and in a 2013 interview she said that she was confused why so many women run from the term.

“I think if you’re not from America you read this stuff and you’re like, ‘What?’” said Page. “But I don’t know why people are so reluctant to say they’re feminists. Maybe some women just don’t care. But how could it be any more obvious that we still live in a patriarchal world when feminism is a bad word.”

“Feminism always gets associated with being a radical movement,” she added. “Good. It should be.”
