Carmen Electra recently sat down with Oprah to talk about a part of her life she doesn’t often reveal: her marriage to NBA bad boy Dennis Rodman. Electra got candid with the media mogul, saying that when things were good with Rodman, she was very happy. But when things got bad, she realized it was the worst situation she could be in.

“Our relationship was very passionate. When it was good, it was amazing. And when it was bad, it was the worst. It happened so fast. It was so spontaneous, and I remember right after, ‘Oh god, what did we do?’” she said of her one-year marriage. “People couldn’t understand why I loved him because he had a reputation for being a bad boy.”

Electra and Rodman were both arrested in 1999 after a violent domestic dispute, although the charges were eventually dropped.

Rodman checked into a rehab facility in January, citing a problem with alcohol, after he made headlines with his visits to North Korea in support of leader Kim Jung Un.

“What was potentially a historic and monumental event turned into a nightmare for everyone concerned. Dennis Rodman came back from North Korea in pretty rough shape emotionally. The pressure that was put on him to be a combination ‘super human’ political figure and ‘fixer’ got the better of him. He is embarrassed, saddened and remorseful for the anger and hurt his words have caused,” said Darren Prince, Rodman’s agent.
