David Cassidy Arrested For DUI In California

David Cassidy was recently arrested on suspicion of drunk driving. Cassidy was pulled over on Friday by the California Highway Patrol near the Los Angeles International Airport. Cassidy had made an illegal right turn to attract the officers attention. When the officer pulled him over, he smelled a strong scent of alcohol coming from the vehicle.

The officer gave Cassidy a field sobriety test that showed a blood alcohol content of 0.19 percent. That level is more than twice the 0.08 legal limit for driving in California. Cassidy was driving a rental car at the time and was arrested at the scene. There was nobody else in the vehicle with him at the time.

Cassidy was arrested on drunk driving charges in 2013 in New York and also in 2010 in Florida. Cassidy has admitted to having an alcohol problem and recently finished a stint in rehab. He had been trying to stay sober but apparently fell off the wagon. Cassidy was released Saturday morning on $15,000 bail and is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 5.

Cassidy’s manager and publicist said that she had talked to Cassidy before his arrest and he had informed her that he was headed to the airport to return to his home in Florida. She said,

“After attending his and his manager’s depositions, it appears as if the pressure led to a brief relapse.” “He was on his way to the airport to return to his home in Florida and to transitional rehabilitation. He plans now to return to rehab in an undisclosed facility.”

Hopefully Cassidy’s next stint in rehab will help him with his drinking problem and prevent future drunk driving charges.
