Darren Sharper Arrested In Louisiana For Rape

Darren Sharper, the former NFL safety and commentator for the NFL Network, has just turned himself into the New Orleans police after an arrest warrant was issued for him.

For those who haven’t heard yet, Sharper has been accused of drugging and raping several women in several different states, and he’s been officially charged in Los Angeles for these crimes.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, Sharper and a gentleman by the name of Erik Nunez drugged and raped two women inside of an apartment. The alleged rapes took place in September of 2013, but police just found out about them just last week.

“Last week investigators learned that not one, but two women were allegedly sexually assaulted by Sharper in the same apartment the night of September 23rd (2013),” read a press release. “New information uncovered also indicates that Nunez also allegedly raped both women that night at the same location.”

Besides being charged in Los Angeles, and now accused of raping two women in Louisiana, Sharper is also being investigated in the states of Nevada, Florida, and Arizona and he’s currently out on bail for the California case.

According to several reports, the 38 year old committed the exact same type of crimes in each state: He would meet at least two young women, usually under the age of 25, and he’d invite them to his condominium or hotel room.

Based on the women’s accounts, Sharper offered them a drink and once they consumed it, they immediately felt faint and passed out–only to wake up with the feeling that they were sexually assaulted. A few of the women actually woke up and caught Sharper in the act of assaulting them.

In the California case, police say he used the drugs morphine and zolpidem to drug the women.

“On Jan. 14, Sharper met two separate women at the same West Hollywood nightclub and invited them to a party,” read a statement from the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office. “Stopping at his hotel, he allegedly invited both up to his room, offered them a shot, and each passed out.”
