Daisy Ridley has been the talk of Hollywood since her breakthrough role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The world has gone crazy for Daisy Ridley and everyone expects that her career will take off.
What many may not have expected is that her next move would be voice acting in a new Studio Ghibli film, which is actually an adaptation of a Japanese classic for an American release.
Daisy Ridley will voice the character Taeko, who is a single 27-year-old woman who’s lived her whole life in Tokyo and takes a voyage to the country to visit her family.
On the way, Daisy Ridley’s character ponders, in the way of flashbacks, if she’s still the girl she once was.
The film, Only Yesterday, was originally released 25 years ago and is a classic in Japan. It is sure to be just as lauded in America.
Many Americans are familiar with the beautiful films that come from Studio Ghibli and this one, with Daisy Ridley as the star, is sure to be a success.

Daisy Ridley said of the film, “I think the reason probably this is such a loved film and will continue to be so is because it doesn’t feel foreign. It feels exactly right, like, how do you make your dreams come true?”
The film will also feature the voice of Dev Patel, of Slumdog Millionaire and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel fame, opposite Daisy Ridley.
