Courteney Cox, Johnny McDaid Breakup Reportedly Caused by Jealousy, Cigarettes

Reports have been pouring in about Courteney Cox’s apparent split with longtime fiance Johnny McDaid. What caused it?

Page Six says it was a combination of jealousy and … smoking?

According to the site, McDaid initiated the split, as he felt uncomfortable with all the relationships Courteney Cox had with her male co-stars.

“He’s actually the one who instigated the breakup,” a source told Page Six. “Johnny feels she’s a little too close for comfort with her male co-stars. He doesn’t like the fact that she’s close to them, that she stays in touch with them [because] she has this past of falling in love with people she works with. He feels very uncomfortable.”

Also, Courteney Cox really didn’t like McDaid’s smoking habit – and even disapproved of him vaping.

TMZ has some more details about the spilt, saying that it was a personality clash that ultimately led to the couple’s divide.

According to the site, McDaid wasn’t really up for Cox’s super-social lifestyle, as he was “more low-key and private.” TMZ says the couple tried for a while to fix things, but were ultimately unable to find a way to make it work.

The two became engaged way back in June of 2014. The marriage would’ve been the first for McDaid and second for Cox. She was previously married to actor David Arquette.
