Clint Eastwood’s Son, Scott, Shares Dad’s Advice

Clint Eastwood has managed to have one of Hollywood’s biggest and longest running careers of all time.

From actor to director, Eastwood shines in all he does. He is the stuff Hollywood legends are made of.

He even managed to father a mini-me. Scott Eastwood, Clint’s son, spoke to Today about his life, his new movie role, and his dad’s best advice.

Scott Eastwood has stayed out of the spotlight thus far, which must have been quite a chore considering his excessively rugged Eastwood good looks. Setting up home in San Diego, he says he prefers to keep to himself.

Hmmm. Like private father, like private son.

What other nuggets of knowledge and interesting traits did Clint Eastwood pass on to his son?

Here are a few:

Scott said, “(Dad) didn’t care what I did. He didn’t care if I was a plumber or if I was an actor. He said, ‘Whatever you do just do it well.’”

Well, that is certainly something Clint Eastwood has taught by example.

He also told Scott to “be humble about (what you do), and be a good guy and tell the truth.”

Definitely a worthy trait for any father to pass to his son. And lastly, Eastwood told his son to “be a man.”

Boom. Who would be a better father figure than super-manly Clint Eastwood to teach that one?

Words of wisdom from Clint Eastwood. These gems not only serve Scott Eastwood well on a daily basis, but could be heeded by many a young man today.

Of course, you should be a man. But, it’s OK to cry, too!

“I’ll tell you what, I cried when I watched The Notebook for the first time,” he admitted. “Any guy who tells you they didn’t cry when they watched The Notebook’s just lying.”

What do you think? Great advice or not so much?
